In memory of Joseph Janson (1789-1846), who had been an 'ardent supporter' of the Linnean Society of London.
South-west Western Australia.
Margins of streams; swampy places.
Like Brachysema, scrambling shrubs with modified bird-pollinated flowers, but a unique capitate inflorescence. Now included within Gastrolobium (Chandler et al., Aust. Syst. Bot. 15: 619-739, 2002).
