Named for Richard Pulteney (1730-1801), English surgeon and botanist, biographer of Linnaeus.
Southern and eastern Australia.
Eucalypt forest, woodland, heath and swamps, very rare in rainforest and absent in the arid zone.

Shrubs belonging to the Pultenaea generic group within the multiple embyro-sac group; related to Stonesiella, Almaleea, Eutaxia and Dillwynia. Diagnosed within the group by stipules with scarious margins and variably fused on the adaxial side of the petiole.
